i need to learn my lesson and stop going looking for the next week teaser. but even during this episode i was feeling pretty heavy with dread that they're going to bring q/alice back and...................... idk if the show decided to go in that direction i think i would be absolutely incandescent with rage, you know? i just wouldn't know what to do with myself?? i know the teasers like to fuck around with you but there was some pretty strong signalling in the episode that they might give it another try, imo. i feel gross just thinking about it. i've grown to like alice a little more this season but if we fall back on book canon and totally ignore the fact that q and eliot having a big damn kiss is the only reasonable end to this season... i don't know what i'll do. fuck. i hope like hell this is just marketing. what the fuck i hate this.
on the bright side i am now not excited for next week at all so i'll be able to get through the next seven days like a normal person - i.e. throw myself into fanon and fic and get back on that Fuck Canon escapist mindset that i thought for a while this show wouldn't need :\
anyway. the episode.
i actually did like the quentin and alice stuff, i liked how it was handled, i liked how it felt like closure in some parts (i'm not thinking about the parts that didn't). i liked how they brought in minor mendings; it made the "i always break things" scene so much better in hindsight, and that scene was already pretty fucking great.
loved sexy librarian kady. unfortunately now am utterly convinced that kady is the one in the elevator, so, that sucks. i mean on the one hand a solid romantic soulmates ending for kady/penny40 but on the other hand.... kady :(
still undecided on julia/penny23. maybe this means i just don't care about them. no positive opinions, no strong negative ones either. it's an IDCP - i don't care pairing
good to have margo back with everyone but the token fillory scenes felt a little shoehorned, idk. i liked cooking show josh that was cute. fen is always cute. i'm always happy to see fen.
the biggest problem with this episode was that it needed more monster. we were right, guys, the monster has a tragic backstory, ugh i'm sad
the binder was cool i guess. i mean we all figured the monster's sister would end up in julia, right? for however long that lasts. i'm keen to see where this plot is going. i love the monster. #1 monster stan now, that's me. fuck every other character. (this is only partially a joke.) also i was excited to see how all the plots would end up being related and now we have our answer so, whoo, closure. until next week. (grimacing emoji)
